‘Cause a Planking Party Don’t Stop!
I do this thing at the beginning of my yoga classes. In the middle of the first Sun Salutation, you hit a Plank pose which for those of you who do not know is simply the top of a push up. When we hit our first one, I do through a checklist of how-tos for the pose. This takes roughly one whole minute which in plank time is an eternity. When I’m feeling really good, we hold it for another 30 to 60 seconds while I tell them about the last book I’ve read.
This Will Save Your Life
On more than on occasion, I have made the confession that I hold planks for so long, because I have this gut feeling that they are going to save my life someday.
