Not So Ranch Dressing

There are two ways to add some delicious and nutritious avocado to your salads via your ranch dressing.

The Easy Way
Step 1:  Buy Ranch
Step 2:  Buy Avocado
Step 3:  Add to blender or food processor
Step 4:  Mixy Mixy Blendy Blendy
Step 5:  EAT IT ON EVERYTHING

Or you can take a more homemade approach which is the best to be certain you are getting the best dressing possible.

Ingredients

3/4 cup buttermilk (substitute dairy milk with plain almond milk for a vegan version)

1/4 fresh cilantro

1 medium avocado

1 clove garlic

2 tbsp chopped scallions

1 lime juiced

1/4 tsp pepper

1/2 tsp salt

1 small jalapeno (optional and highly recommended)

DirectionsThe best part about this is all you need is a good food processor and/or a blender.

If you are using a food processor and blender, just add your cilantro, garlic, and scallions to your food processor and chop, chop, chop!  Then, add buttermilk to the blender and add your processed yummies to the blender.  Add in your chopped avocado.  Then you can add the lime, salt, and pepper to taste as you go.  Add in the chopped jalapeno for a little kick in the pants.

If you are just using a blender, then chop everything in advance.  Add the buttermilk first to the blender.  Then add the avocado little by little and blend as you go.  You can then add in the additional ingredients.  Tasting along the way.
