Buddhism and Activism?

I just read a wonderful article by Regina Valdez called I’m Buddhist and going to DC’s People’s Climate March. See you there?, and I thought I would share it with all of you.

Since the election, I have spoken out in class about activism, provided postcards for folks to mail to representatives, and have suggested many, many books by Thich Nhat Hanh.  All of this has been to show some of the less than obvious bridges between mindfulness and activism (which most of the time takes the form of protest).

This article brought me a lot of peace, and I hope it does the same for you.
